Reading, Storytelling, and Fun: A Successful Collaboration for November’s Reading Month
The month of November is celebrated as Reading Month, and to mark this occasion, the Light for All (LfA) Foundation partnered with Pinyahan and Malaya Elementary Schools for a special event on November 12 and 13, 2024. This activity was led by a diverse team of volunteers, including Australian and Egyptian volunteers, alongside the LfA team and local volunteers from St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church.
The volunteers were well-prepared, with tailored activities and agendas for each grade level, ensuring the event ran smoothly and that all activities were age appropriate. The event was a great success, surpassing our initial target of participants. The total participants in Pinyahan Elementary School were 2,053 students while we catered 566 students in Malaya Elementary School.
The day’s events were filled with a variety of engaging activities, including reading sessions, storytelling, drawing, and interactive games. To top off the experience, each student received a snack after their session, and the children were very grateful for this thoughtful gesture. The children enjoyed the fun and educational experiences, making the event both memorable and impactful for all involved.
