Holiday Spirit in Action: Light for All Foundation Celebrates with Flora Ylagan Students
On November 26-27, 2024, the Light for All Foundation, in partnership with Thanksgiving Australia, brought the spirit of Christmas to the students of Flora Ylagan High School with a joyous early celebration. This heartwarming event was made possible through the invaluable support of the school’s Officer-in-Charge, Mrs. Jasthyne Cates Salazar, and the Head of Boys and Girls Scouts, Mrs. Maricris Chua.
A diverse group of students and volunteers came together to make the celebration memorable. The event included 29 Boy Scouts, 37 Girl Scouts, 117 Junior and Senior High students, 12 Supreme Student Government (SSLG) representatives, and 80 Grade 10 students who were specially selected by their teachers based on their academic performance. The initiative aimed to reward hard work and inspire others to strive for excellence.
The two-day celebration was packed with inclusive and engaging activities designed to bring joy to everyone involved. Students participated in fun games that encouraged teamwork and creativity, as well as hands-on craft sessions where they showcased their artistic talents. Volunteers facilitated meaningful discussions about the true essence of Christmas—love, kindness, and unity—emphasizing the importance of generosity and community spirit. The participants also joined together in singing Christmas carols, creating a harmonious atmosphere of shared happiness.
A delicious meal was enjoyed by all, further fostering a sense of togetherness and gratitude. The event highlighted the importance of diversity and inclusivity, ensuring every participant felt valued and celebrated regardless of their background.
This early Christmas celebration was a beautiful reminder of the power of coming together as a community to spread joy and hope, leaving a lasting impact on the students and volunteers alike.
