Caring for the Community: LfA’s 4-Day Medical Outreach in Quezon City

The Light for All Foundation (LfA) successfully organized a 4-day medical mission from March 21 to 24, 2024, providing a range of healthcare services and activities for underserved communities. The mission was held at three locations: Pinyahan Elementary School, 48 Mapagbigay St., Brgy. Pinyahan and the Heart of Mary Villa, a residential facility in Project 3, Quezon City, which cares for pregnant women who are survivors of abuse, as well as surrendered or abandoned infants.

LfA collaborated with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including 2 General Practitioners, 1 Respiratory Specialist, 3 Dentists, and 1 Ophthalmologist. They are combination of Foreign and Filipino doctors and together, they were able to serve a total of 228 patients across various medical disciplines:

– 74 patients received general check-ups.

– 77 patients were treated by dentists.

– 38 individuals received eye exams and treatments from the Ophthalmologist.

– 39 patients were seen by the Respiratory Specialist.

In addition to the medical consultations, recreational activities were organized for children to enjoy while they waited for their turn to be checked. Educational dental awareness sessions were also conducted, and dental kits were distributed to promote good oral hygiene practices.

The mission was a resounding success, positively impacting the health and well-being of the communities served and fostering a sense of care and compassion among both the recipients and volunteers.
