Quality Education

Light for All Foundation strongly values the importance of education and skills development. To address the needs of the community in this area, the organization has partnered with knowledgeable speakers, as well as the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Department of Education (DepEd). These partnerships have allowed the foundation to implement programs that provide meaningful and practical learning opportunities.

Over the years, the foundation has successfully conducted various educational initiatives, benefiting 5,036 individuals. It has actively participated in Brigada Eskwela, contributing to school maintenance and improvement activities. Additionally, it has provided speakers for In-Service Training (INSET) programs and School Learning Action Cells (SLAC) to support teacher development. The foundation has also organized Professional Learning Series for social workers and psychologists, ensuring continuous professional growth in these fields.

Light for All Foundation has further demonstrated its commitment by hosting a range of development training programs aimed at equipping individuals with essential skills. Partnering with expert speakers, the organization has facilitated seminars in universities, offering valuable insights to students and educators alike. Furthermore, it has conducted computer skills training to enhance digital literacy in the community and many more. These efforts highlight the foundation’s dedication to fostering education and empowering individuals to achieve personal and professional growth.

As teachers are one of the most influential and powerful forces for equity, access, and quality in education, supported and qualified teachers are one of our priorities. Through reinforcing SDG 4 (quality education), which has a target calling for a substantial increase in qualified teachers, we contribute to teachers and educators being empowered, adequately recruited, well-trained, professionally qualified, motivated, and supported. We provide courses on ICT skills, soft skills, and 7 habits of leadership and provide access to high-quality education.

Over the past three years, LfA foundation invested in empowering the girls to train others and convey knowledge and skills to different audiences from the surrounding communities on different topics. The girls were exposed to different adhoc orientation and training sessions on different skills and topics. In January 2022, LfA foundation decided to organize a well-structured comprehensive Training of Trainers conducted by a professional trainer specialized in this field. The training was conducted on seven consecutive sessions

As per the MOU signed with Miriam College, LfA conducted series of interactive sessions on English language and art basic skills. These sessions have been facilitated by Miriam College volunteer (Ms. Diane Frances L. Sales) during 2022 school break (July). The sessions were conducted for youth and young adults from neighborhoods serviced by the foundation.   The sessions aim at improving the competency of the trainees in their basic English writing, reading, and communication skills as well as enhancing the trainees’ skills in drawing, oil pastel coloring, and painting.
