A Vision of Hope: Light for All Foundation’s Vision Care Mission
Primary health care plays a vital role in promoting eye health and preventing conditions that could lead to vision loss. To contribute to this cause, the Light for All (LfA) Foundation organized a medical mission focused on eye care. The event, which included free eye consultations and the provision of eyeglasses, was held at 48 Mapagbigay in Quezon City on April 18, 2024.
During the event, Dr. Jay Vinas, an optometrist, led an awareness session on proper vision care, the causes of eye diseases, and ways to prevent sight loss. LfA aimed to serve at least 100 beneficiaries from Barangay Central and Pinyahan, with participants ranging from 5 years old and above. Children were required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
A total of 82 individuals signed in for the event, including parents of young children. After thorough eye examinations, Dr. Vinas determined that 64 of the 82 beneficiaries had vision problems and needed eyeglasses, which they were able to receive. The remaining 18 participants were fortunate to have normal vision.
This medical mission successfully provided essential eye care services to those in need, helping to improve the quality of life for many in the community.
