Harnessing Technology: A Community Initiative for Web Development Training
In partnership with the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) Region 8, the Light for All Foundation (LfA) launched its Basic Web Development training in March 2024. This initiative aimed to equip the local community with essential skills for various job opportunities in Tacloban, recognized as a Digital City with a growing demand for computer-related careers.
Over the two-month training period, five participants gained foundational knowledge and technical skills in web development, enabling them to create simple programs and websites. This training not only enhanced their practical abilities but also provided an advantage in their academic pursuits. Interviews with two of the trainees—already professionals—revealed their desire to pursue intermediate classes to deepen their understanding of web development. They expressed that the skills acquired from the training significantly improved their grasp of programming concepts.
