This 4-session training package and course was designed for women to address unhealthy habits they have within their families and communities, such as: smoking, alcohol, excess intake of junk food, and importance of physical activities. The training discussed and presented the risks associated with these unhealthy habits, long term implications on their health. In addition, the training provided them with the required knowledge and doable practices to overcome these unhealthy habits. At the last session, eight women were selected to convey these sessions to their peers within their respective families and communities. Four sessions were conducted in the local language during November 2021. More than 30 women participated in this cascading sessions. The facilitator women were equipped with the required materials and resources to successfully conduct these sessions.

Women living in the neiboghrhod of St. Mark Foundation play a critical role in securing the basic needs of their families, particulary that many of them are single mothers and the breadwinners for their families. Having the basic leadership skills and practices are important to strengthen their capabilities in taking care of their families and act as changing agents within their families and communities. The 4-session training package and course on leadership was conducted by a specialized trainer in this field to capacitate women with the required knowledge, skills and attitudes that enable them to be effective changing agents and leaders in their respective communities.

Due to the long lockdown imposed by the government in the Philippines as the result of the surge in COVID-19 cases, the subsequent implications on economic status of families because of unemployment and long remote schooling of children, women have experienced several mental and emotional disturbances and stress. This two-training session and course designed to allow women to speak out about their challenges and problems in relation to their emotional and mental health status and provide them with practical advices and support to enable them in maintaining their mental health and emotions balanced and intact.

This was an initiative by LfA to support men, who were laid off by the respective employers, in generating minimum income. LfA provided them with bicycles to join delivery services and to use them as vehicle of transportation to their jobs, as there was no public transportation because of the pandemic . The bicycles provided in subsidized cost to be paid on one year installments.

Miriam Identity, Spirituality and Mission Office (MISMO) of Miriam College in partnership with SMCOF conducted series of 2-hour weekly sessions for the SMCOF women beneficiaries. The sessions were conducted and facilitated by Prof. Anne Carmel David, a professor of Business Marketing in Miriam College in July-August 2022. The sessions designed to increase self-esteem and confidence of women and acquire them with the knowledge and skills required to plan and implement their own income generating activities.
